Tarutao National Marine Park, Satun Province, Southern Thailand.
The national marine park, located in the Andaman Sea some 1,300
kilometers (800 miles) south of the capital Bangkok, comprises of
1490 square kilometers. Tarutao Is. is the main island and this is
where they will film Survivor. Son, Makham and Possibly Taruwow
Bays have been picked as the location.

The main island, Koh Tarutao, was a prison for hundreds of
political prisoners during the 1940s and is now a hatchery and
nursery centre for endangered sea turtles.

Wild buffaloes, king cobra and python snakes and risk from
malaria are some of the local hazards.
